The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority is releasing the following statement pertaining to Hurricane Irma.
The MTA continues to monitor the impacts to the region from Hurricane Irma in coordination with our local, state and federal partners. All other MTA fixed route services will be provided as scheduled until further notice.
If sustained winds reach 35 mph from Hurricane Irma, the MTA system will shut down temporarily for safety reasons. The MTA staff will monitor the effects of the storm and will keep the community up-to-date as the hurricane passes through the area.
Policies for our Paratransit are slightly different. Beginning on Monday, the September 11th, and running through Tuesday, the 12th, the Paratransit division will ONLY be providing life sustaining dialysis trips.
The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority will monitor the effects of the storm and will keep the community up-to-date as the storm passes through the area.
