Macon-Bibb County Paratransit System: A Gift of Independence
Welcome Aboard the Paratransit SystemThe Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority would like to welcome the citizens of Macon and Bibb County to the Paratransit System. As of July 2007 the Paratransit System began operations through the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority. Our goal is to provide transportation services to persons with disabilities whose mobility prevents them to access the regular MTA buses. How to Acquire RidershipAll you need to do is fill out an application certifying your eligibility. Applications are available at the Macon- Bibb County Transit Authority office located at 200 Cherry Street (Terminal Station), or you can download and print a copy here. If you are unable to acquire one on your on we will be happy to mail an application to you. Once the application process is completed, eligible riders will receive an MTA Para-Transit Rider Card. This card will also allow temporary ridership on other Paratransit Systems. Qualified individuals who are 60 years and older and handicapped persons of any age who may have various transportation restrictions may access the Paratransit System with a prior day notice by calling 478-803-2512. Transportation will be scheduled according to vehicle time and availability. The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority maintains a policy of non- discrimination on grounds of race, color, creed. religion, political affiliation, sex, age/ with exception of grant conditions, regulation and disabilities in regard to provisions, services and employment.
